§ Never tow a hybrid with the drive wheels on the ground. This could start a fire.
§ Thoroughly review the disabling and enabling procedures prior to working on the vehicles.
§ If a hybrid is stuck in water, DO NOT ATTEMPT any electrical repairs. Remove the vehicle from the water.
§ Use 1000V rubber gloves when working on high voltage components.
§ The internal combustion engine can start and stop on its own while servicing the car. Make sure you know what you are doing.
§ Treat all electrical parts as if they have high voltage until you test them with a digital volt ohm meter and are sure they are at 0 volts. Usually wait approximately five minutes for the voltage to drain out.
§ If you have a pacemaker, stay away from the drive motor magnets.
§ Do not wear watches, jewelry or any metal near drive motor magnets.
