96-90 Volkswagen Passat & Corrado
Part #’s: 17222 & 17030

Problem: Some 1996-90 Passat (2.8L, 2.0L with automatic transmission) and 1996-90 Corrado (with automatic transmission) models may exhibit an intermittent no-start condition, with one or more DTCs (00518, 00529, 00545 & 00638) possibly stored in DTC memory.

Solution: It may be caused by a loose contact in the ECM power supply relay. If a vehicle exhibits this condition, replace the power supply relay (location No. 3 in the fuse/relay panel).
