Chrysler Intermittent No-Start and MIL On
November, 2000
|
|
You may see a 1995 Chrysler Sebring or Dodge Avenger with the 2.5-liter V6 and automatic transaxle built before April 7, 1995 that
intermittently doesn’t start, illuminates its charging light and ABS light and sets DTCs. Chrysler says to carefully inspect the wiring harness near the shift lever on the transaxle. If you find chafing or other
wiring damage, reroute (at least 3/4 inch from the lever), repair, rewrap or resolder the harness wiring, as necessary. If you find only chafing, seal the section of harness with 3M Electrical Moisture
Sealant Patch or tape. If soldering is necessary, seal the repaired section with heat-shrink tubing.

Check rubber bushing in the bracket. If they are worn too much this may be your problem. New service washers are available which may help.
