         
Ford 4.6L SOHL engines (1996-1998) These engines have a plastic intake manifold that the alternator brackets attach to. Care should be taken when servicing the alternator so that damage does not occur. Ford owner notification program 97M91 and 97M91-S1 dated from January to May of 1998 addresses this problem.
