         
Ford Focus Battery Cables: Ford has a recall on the Focus for dealers to re-route and replace if necessary battery cables that have been prone to smoke, melt or cause a fire. Source: Automotive Magazine No Start: Ford Focus with a no start condition can be the result of a defective DPFE (Delta Pressure Feedback Exhaust) valve not giving the proper voltage signal to the computer. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery may solve the problem for a short time, but it is recommended that the DPFE valve be replaced.
